HANS Baare-Schmidt produced a magnificent performance to clinch the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Schools’ U18 Boys’ Singles title.
It was the eighth time in the past nine years a Malvern College player had won the tennis competition, known as the Scott Cup.
Malvern College also had success in the under 14 and under 16 boys’ doubles tournaments.
Kate Horsburgh from the Royal Grammar School Worcester won the under 18 singles competition, the Smyth Cup. She defeated Bromsgrove’s Georgie Jeynes-Cupper in another high-quality final.
Malvern College’s girls were runners up in both the under 14 and under 16 girls’ doubles competitions.
They lost in the final to Bromsgrove and Hereford Cathedral School respectively.
