PROLIFIC striker Dave Reynolds has signed for Worcester City.

The 28-year-old bagged 53 goals last season in 46 games for West Midlands League Premier Division side Malvern Town.

Reynolds was voted players' and supporters' player of the year and his exploits caught the attention of City joint managers John Snape and Lee Hughes.

The forward, who has played for HDanywhere Community Stadium side Town since 2011, will step up one level into the Midland League Premier Division with Worcester.

Malvern-based Reynolds said: "I am delighted to sign for Worcester City. It's a great club with fantastic support.

"I am looking forward to working alongside Lee and John and hope I can score the goals to get Worcester back to where we belong."

Snape said: "Dave is in his prime as a striker and sees the club as his future.

"He is looking forward to the challenge and cannot wait to play alongside Lee."

Former West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City striker Hughes, 41, will continue as a player for Worcester in the 2017-18 season alongside his managerial duties.

Malvern Town said on Twitter: "Another huge loss for us but of course we wish Malvern's long-time striker and player of the year all the best at his new club."

Reynolds went to high school in Malvern at Dyson Perrins.

He follows Worcester-based midfielder Nathan Hayward in joining Bromsgrove Sporting's tenants City from Malvern.
