BARNARDS Green were restricted to a 15-point winning home draw by lowly Leamington in Birmingham Cricket League Division One.

A thriller of more than 500 runs and 19 wickets included 162 from Ryan Tongue and 5-71 for Phil Harris.

Leamington chose to field with opener Andy Ford (2) bowled by Matt Davison.

Tongue and Ollie Swift combined for big hitting with two sixes from the latter bringing up his 50 off 57 balls.

Their 96-run stand ended when Swift (30) was trapped lbw by Jon Wigley.

Dannie Rees (4) was bowled by Wigley to make it 104-3 in the 23rd over.

Tongue's third six brought up the 150 in the 30th over and his fourth guided him past 100 off 100 balls.

Davison (4-47) claimed Harris (27) lbw and Tom Banks (7) hit one boundary before being bowled.

Tongue blasted another six as Green passed 200 in the 39th over.

But Kev Golder (11), Jon Dovey (7) and skipper Ash Brewer (2) fell to Wigley (3-62), Davison and Lee Hopkins respectively.

Tongue continued his boundary feast with 23 off the 51st over and a four brought up the 250 followed by a six for his 150 off 144 balls.

He was caught off Tom Warner in the 52nd over for 162 off 148 balls, including 13 fours and 10 sixes.

Green were all out for 271 three balls later when Blair Kingsland fell for a duck.

For the second week running Harris took a wicket with his first ball as James Gilchrist was bowled and then he did likewise to Nathaniel Hooker.

In the fifth over Harris struck again as Wigley was caught by Rees.

Sulaiman Hussain (20) was caught behind by keeper Brewer off Dovey.

Hopkins and Jack Hawkes (17) took Leamington to 80 before Harris dismissed the latter.

Then Hopkins and Matthew Payne led Leamington past 150 but Tongue struck in his first over as Rees caught the latter for 21.

Leamington were on 160-6 needing 112 runs off 21 overs.

Max Kenny started aggressively but lost Hopkins caught by Kingsland for 82.

Kenny (29) was run out by Harris and Kingsland bowled Warner (23) after a 40-run ninth-wicket stand.

But Leamington held on with 250-9 as Green, who host leaders Moseley on Saturday (noon), moved up to third.
