MORE than 50 runners helped celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bromyard Gala Round the Downs Race.

Among those included 11 Malvern Joggers who tackled the 4.2-mile course which forms part of the Bromyard Gala weekend.

First Jogger home was Matthew Lancett in a time of 28 minutes 20 seconds followed by Nic Dauncey (28.37), Ben Toon (30.25), Jason Protheroe (32.11), Mike Bolton (32.25), Claire Haynes (33.27), Ian Walwyn (34.30), Amanda Duncan (34.54), Julie Caseley (35.45), Rhian Protheroe (35.51) and Patricia Johnson (41.09)..

Haynes was also the first open female while Walywn was the second male super vet and Johnson was the third female super vet.

A group of Joggers also entered the Bredon Bash, organised by Evesham Running Club. Jon Newey was the quickest Jogger, finishing in 39.21 ahead of Dauncey (43.47), Matthew Lancett (47.26), Toon (49.39), Walwyn (52.05), Bolton (52.30), Caseley (55.46), Warwick Taylor (55.55), Alison Priest (56.54), Amanda Duncan (57.42), Rhian Protheroe (57.58), Mike Anstey (1.03.57) and Lynda Broadway (1.07.08).

Walwyn’s time saw him secure top spot in the MV60 category.

Caseley did the Blakedown Bolt 10k in a time of 56.24 while Priest came home in (56.31), Anstey (1.05.06) and Broadway (1.07.21).
