DIRECTOR of rugby Rob Cook says he is looking forward to putting his boots on for Malvern next season.

The 32-year-old full-back spent four seasons at Aviva Premiership outfit Gloucester where he made 79 appearances.

After a spell at Nuneaton last term, Cook took over the reigns at Malvern, but admits he still wants to play his part on the pitch.

“I am also really excited to be playing with the boys this year,” he said.

“I coached the team a few years back and had a real bond with the club so it will be great to be able to put the jersey on this time round.”

Malvern begin pre-season on Tuesday and Cook says he is continuing to put his squad together for the Midlands Two West (South) campaign.

“I kept an eye on the first team’s results and they really had a great run of form from Christmas last season,” he said.

“We want to keep that momentum going into pre-season so we can really hit the ground running come September.

“We have managed to keep hold of most of the squad and have recruited to really help with strength and depth in both the first and second team.”
