HIMBLETON resumed winnings ways with a comprehensive Worcestershire League Division Three victory over Malvern by 111 runs.

The win kept them second in the table and pushed them 30 points clear of third place.

Himbleton, opting to bat first, amassed a commanding 310-7 built around a 164-run partnership in just 24 overs between Stuart Dickenson (101) and Jon Critchlow (92).

Coming together at a precarious 78-3 the pair attacked the visitors.  Skipper Dickenson was the dominant partner with 18 fours and two sixes in a 63-ball hundred while Critchlow’s innings was more measured.

Dickenson’s dismissal led to a small flurry of wickets before Luke Brace (10 not out) and Rob Perrins (11no) scampered the hosts beyond 300.

In reply Malvern had no answer to their old boy Perrins (5-37) who produced a devastating five-wicket spell at the top of the innings.

He bowled three and had two caught behind.

Well supported by Sam Jenkins (1-30) the opening pair reduced Malvern to 44-6.

A powerful 74 from Tom Fairclough gave Malvern hope but two needless run outs put a stop to the late charge and they were dismissed for 199.

Himbleton go to Netherton on Saturday skippered by Jamie Alford in the absence of Dickenson.
