FORMER Hereford FC captain Joel Edwards has signed for Welsh Premier League club Cardiff Met University.
Talking to the Cardiff Met Sport TV, Christian Edwards said: "We've added from outside, we're not like a normal football club where we go out and attract players and we buy them, they choose us through the status if the university coming here to study.
"We've had a couple of players on the radar for a little while, Dylan Rees being one and Joel Edwards being the other.
"Thankfully they have joined us for pre-season and have signed.
"It gives us some great competition in the squad and added depth.
"So, we're really pleased as a group of coaches."
Cardiff Met finished sixth in the Welsh Premier League last season and narrowly missed out on qualification to the Europa League following defeat against Bangor City.
Edwards - who led Hereford to six trophies in two seasons as well as captaining them at Wembley in the FA Vase Final - was released by Hereford at the end of last season.
