RYAN Tongue scored a superb century as Barnards Green defeated Himley by 84 runs in Birmingham League Division One.
The opener hit 121 runs off 147 balls to guide Green to 276-6 before George Rhodes took 4-38 in dismissing the hosts for 192.
It was a convincing performance from the visitors who reached 124 before losing their first wicket, with Andy Ford falling for 54.
And they almost made another 100 runs before Jack Haynes (53) was stumped.
Rhodes quickly followed with Tongue stuck on 99.
He soon registered his ton before holing out to Nipun Karunanayake who also took three wickets.
Himley soon found themselves under pressure on 84-4.
Karunanayake gave his side a glimmer of hope, but only Callum Lea (28) provided much support. And when Rhodes bowled Karunanayake (80), Himley’s innings quickly ended.
Green host Bromsgrove on Saturday (noon).
