PHIL Middleton, Mark Atkins, Tom Holmes and Ryan Atkins won the Bowls England Men’s National Fours Championship at Victoria Park in Leamington.
The Ledbury Bowling Club quartet defeated Josh Tingey, Roger Williams, Dex Weyand and Ken Weyand from St Lawrence Bowling Club, Kent 27-12 to clinch the title.
The result completed a second victory in the event for the Atkins’ duo, who won the title in 2015 when representing Worcestershire.
Ryan Atkins then joined up with Tracey Powell, Marian Wheatley and Shaun Jones in the Mixed Fours competition, but were knocked out in the semi-finals, losing 24-9 to eventual winners Essex.
Mark Atkins came through three rounds in the Men’s National Singles Championship before going down 21-18 in the quarter-finals.
