AN inspection will be held on Thursday to see if Eastleigh's pitch wil be playable ahead of this Saturday's FA Cup tie against Hereford.

The National League side saw their game against Chester postponed on September 30 and have since had contractors carrying out extensive repair work on the south-western corner of the pitch.

That is set to be completed by tomorrow.

Easteligh say that, at this stage, there is every indication that the pitch will be playable, but the Football Association have requested an inspection on Thursday,

"In the unlikely event of the playing surface being deemed unfit for play, a contingency plan is being put in place," reads an Eastleigh statement.

Hereford have so far sold more than 500 tickets for the match.
