WORCESTER Warriors' Worcester-born scrum-half Jonny Arr is among the candidates for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sports Personality of the Year award.

He is joined on the shortlist by Worcestershire CCC batting ace Daryl Mitchell and Malvern cycling talent Evie Richards along with three sports clubs in Hereford FC, Bromsgrove Sporting FC and Droitwich RFC.

Organised by the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire, the awards aim to reward and recognise those people from across the two counties that take part, work, coach and volunteer in sport and physical activity.

The public vote for the sports personality winner is now open at  sportspartnershiphw.co.uk/spoty-poll until 11.59pm on Sunday, November 19.

The winner will be unveiled at the annual event attended by more than 250 amateur and professional sports people, local businesses and dignitaries on Thursday, November 23, at Sixways Stadium, Worcester.

Stephen Brewster, chief executive of the sports partnership, said: "The Sports Personality of the Year award is particularly prestigious as it is voted for by the public.

"Voting is free of charge so I'd encourage everyone to select their favourite."

Tickets for the event can be purchased from sportspartnershiphw.co.uk/tickets.
