UPTON were in the Christmas spirit as they gifted an easy 33-0 win to Alcester in Midlands Three West (South).
Having had a week off due to the weather, third-from-bottom Upton were still without key influential players.
This showed as Alcester, buoyed by their win against previous leaders Shipston-on-Stour the week before, were first to every breakdown, kick and dropped ball.
Upton started positively but were a score down when a kick over the top was caught by the Alcester centre who brushed off a tackle and raced in from halfway.
The hosts stuck to their game plan but as the half wore on the referee continually pinged them for a variety of offences.
This allowed sixth-placed Alcester good field position and time and again their backs made yards.
Again from a kick and chase the visitors won the race to the ball for a second try.
Straight from the kick-off they span the ball wide and scored a third.
With heads now down, Upton conceded a fourth try before half-time when they were pushed back over the line at a five-metre scrum.
The second half started on the same note when from the first attack Alcester chipped over the top and again won the race to make it 33-0.
Upton managed to stop Alcester's points at that point but although threatening on a couple of occasions never got on the scoresheet themselves.
Meanwhile, Bromyard had nothing to show from their visit to second-placed Shipston who won 28-0.
The Herefordshire side went back to the bottom of the table after Old Wheatleyans' losing bonus point from their 25-23 home loss to Ledbury.
