HANLEY Swan enjoyed a comfortable 6-0 home win over Pittville United in Cheltenham League Division Two.

They started well and were rewarded with an early goal when Blake Bishop latched on to a through-ball from Luke Duffett to hit home.

Hanley were soon two up when Duffett was brought down in the box and Kevin Moore scored the resulting penalty. Midway through the half, a good ball from Josh Hughes found Bishop and he slotted it home for his second.

Pittville played passing football but Hanley’s back four of Hughes, Chris Aston, Dave Smith and Adam Webb comfortably dealt with any threat.

The second half saw Hanley going in search of more goals, Joel Hobbs nodded just wide, Jamie Heason had a shot cleared of the line and Cathal Mcternan saw a headed effort pushed onto the bar.

But it was not long before another goal came when a pass from Chris Shuard found McTernan who crossed for Hobbs to score.

Hanley continued to push forward and another cross from McTernan on the right set Shuard up to hit the ball into the net.

As the game drew to a close Shuard wrapped up the scoring when he poked the ball into the net from close range.

Hanley’s next game is at Bredon Reserves on Saturday (3pm).

Second-placed Upton Town entertain Tewkesbury Town, who are in fourth position, on Saturday in Division One.
