MALVERN Triathlon Club's former world and British age group duathlon champion Vikki Sivertsen returned to action after a persistent knee injury.
She was third woman overall in the Gloucester Sprint Triathlon, completing a 400-metre swim, 28-kilometre bike section and 6km run in one hour 29 minutes 24 seconds.
Sivertsen finished one minute 16 seconds behind the winner despite doing an additional three miles on the bike leg having missed an essential turn in the blinding, driving rain.
Jasmin Dargan did the shorter super sprint event of a 200m swim, 14km bike and 3km run in 1.07.
Steve Butler led the Malvern team in Snowdonia at the classic slateman challenge, completing a gruelling event in 2.44.41 followed by Tim Day-Thompson in 3.13.47 and Bill Adsett in 3.30.29.
At the half-iron distance outlaw event in Nottinghamshire, Andrew Rickard finished in 5.49.14, Wesley Ogden in 7.01.17 and Gary Lambert in his first full triathlon event in 7.50.32.
Ally Pemberton did the Clock Tower Aquathlon, a new sprint at Abberley School, for her first 400m pool swim event.
