MALVERN Joggers long-distance walkers Lynda Broadway and Mike Anstey overcame the elements to register a personal best time in the Cinque Ports 100.

The fearless duo faced 27 degrees of heat and thunder and lightning storms during the 101.3-mile course. About 140 people dropped out due to the high temperatures but Broadway and Anstey dug in to finish 227th out of 449 starters in a time of 43 hours and 42 minutes.

Elsewhere, Julie Caseley and Jason Protheroe finished The Cleeve Cloud Cuckoo race together in 56.31 while Adam Hall tackled Bredon Cricket Club's second tower run along with 132 other runners.

Four Joggers members took part in the undulating Dymock Half Marathon with Suzie Lane coming home in 1.55.20, Andrew Brown 1.52.42 and Simon Richardson 1.33.04.
