LEDBURY Swifts under 13 girls' team claimed a prestigious prize in recognition of the way they conducted themselves on the field this season.

The side, coached by Michael Seabourne, were handed the Sarah Lloyd Award for Respect after receiving high marks from opposition and referees in the Herefordshire Girls' Football League.

They also reached a cup final which Swifts' under 15s also achieved this campaign.

Seabourne said: "For a long time Ledbury Swifts have championed girls' football to become as popular as boys football.

"It has long been a passion of the chairman Nick Fish to see this happen and to his credit this season all his hard work has paid off."

Swifts also have got girls teams at under nine and under 11 level.

The club are looking to recruit players.
