TEENAGER Abi Senior booked her place at this year’s European Triathlon Championship in Glasgow after an impressive showing in Nottingham.
The 18-year-old Malvern Triathlon Club member was among 1,200 competitors to take part in the ETU Sprint Distance Triathlon Qualifier at the National Water Sports Centre.
It was a highly competitive event which comprised of a 750-metre swim, a 20-kilometre bike section and a 5k run.
Senior delivered a time of one hour, 12 minutes and 23 seconds to become the 11th best female in her age group while securing her spot at the European championship in August.
Her next hurdle is her A-level exams before ramping up her triathlon training ahead of the major event.
Malvern’s Janet Adsett also competed in Nottingham and came home in 1.22.14. Adsett’s time was the 20th best in the female senior veteran category.
