BRANSFORD seniors' Age Matters Day saw the Stan Parnell Memorial Trophy up for grabs.

Graham Wilks (17 handicap) won the silverware from the over 70s section with 40 points which included a back-nine 24 and seven pars.

Dave Lindsay (21 handicap) pipped Ferey Ghani (15) to take the over 70s title on countback after both scored 36.

The under 70s prize went to Alan Cockill (19) with 34.

For the over 70s, Roger Steade (28) managed 34, Gordon White (26), 34, Alan Wallcroft (23) 33, Richard Steele (15) and Pauline Wetton (28) 31 and Harry Godwin (20), Steve Littlewood (28) and Paul Edlin (24) 30.

June Atkinson (19) scored 34, Alan Ford (11) 33, Gerry McCurry (27) 32 and Bob McGrath (19) 29 in the under 70s.

Ford won the seniors' June medal with 69 nett from Steele (15) on 64 and was runner-up in the club’s June stableford on a card play-off to Steve Collins after both notched 39 points.

Third went to Nathan Normoyle (12) with 35 while Jodie Bennett won Division Two with 41 followed by Abi Nixon on 37 and Mark Wright on 36.

Collins (9) had three birdies and six pars in his winning round.

Three others scored 35 in Division One in Nigel Perry (7), David Lamb (8) and Gavin Heath (12).

Ford’s seniors' medal victory saw him go out in 41 and come back in 39 with one birdie and 11 pars.

He managed 80 gross 11 handicap 69 nett ahead of Steele 89-15=74, June Atkinson 99-21=78, Pete Anthony 90-11=79 and Rob

Blake 95-15=80 while Roy Burston, Jim Maloney, Trevor Atkinson and Phil Spencer got 81 nett.

Brian Lawrence won Division Two with 97-23=74 from Lindsay 97-21=76, Martin Linley 100-21=7, John Phillips 99-20=79, Peter Harrison 104-25=79 and Rob Wetton 102-23=79.

Division Three was topped by Roy Mayo 108-26=82 from Steade 110-28=82, Charlie Hawkridge 107-25=82, Steve Littlewood 112-28=84, White 110-26=84, Chas Griffin 116-30=86 and John Knowles 111-25=86.

Bransford seniors won 5-1 at Puckrup Hall for their fourth away win from seven starts.

There were victories for Dave Miller and Andy Falconer 3&2, Trevor Atkinson and Neil Sheldon 2&1, Ghani and Phillips 3&2, Lee Dyment and White 3&2 and Blake and Steade one-up.

Wilks and Godwin lost one-down.
