THREE teams of four from Malvern Buzzards tackled the Tempo Run for Cider Relay in Worcester.

They ran on a flat course of about 15km along the quay.

The mixed team clocked 1.00.23 through Emma Woodward, Adam Dyson, Dave Woodward and Marc Heptinstall for sixth out of 30 groups.

Buzzards Wurzels men did 1.02.28 for eighth with Jack Abbott, Sim Foreman, Archie Foreman and Nick Garland contributing.

The Twin Peaks mixed team were 19th in 1.17.53 thanks to Emma Foreman, Paola Sestito, James Gillson and Alice Dyson.

Two Buzzards tackled the Pen Y Fan Trail Challenge of 13 miles with Martin Reed-Darby and James Eden doing 3.09 for 13th and 14th respectively out of 100 runners, climbing a total ascent of 1,200 metres.

Buzzards' Sarah Armstrong finished third woman and first veteran over 50 at the Cleobury Mortimer 10-kilometre race.

Armstrong was 13th overall out of 173 in 44 minutes 52 seconds.

At the Evesham 10k, Buzzards' Glen Curran clocked 44.23, Emma Woodward 52.53, Mike Theelke 1.04.03 and Lisa Hopkins 1.18.38.

The Wyre Forest trail half-marathon saw Steve Beldon manage seventh overall and second male over 40 in 1.30.04 with Jemma White clocking 2.51.02.

Buzzards' Peter Wilson was third and first men's veteran over 50 in a Worcester Pitchcroft run.

The club were invited to the Malvern Hills District Sports Awards gala evening as one of the two finalists for the category club of the year.

Secretary Sim Foreman was one of the three finalists for the unsung hero category.
