EMILY Lewis retained her Under 18s 200-metre sprint title at the National Sprint Canoe Championships in Nottingham.

Lewis secured gold in the K1 (individual) event in a new personal best time of 52.08 seconds at the National Water Sports Centre.

More success followed for the Malvern paddler when she also took the 500m gold medal and silver in the 1,000m event.

Teaming up with Kathryn Trotter from Elmbridge Canoe Club in a K2 event, they also claimed gold in the 500m.

It has been a highly successful season for Lewis who finished fifth at the World Championships over 200m in Germany in July.

With three national titles, the former Chase High School student will now embark on winter training and join the senior ranks in 2012.

She has recently been added to the school’s sporting hall of fame with her Great Britain shirt on display.
