Bromyard left to rue a host of missed efforts

WASTEFUL finishing again cost Bromyard Town as they lost 3-1 at home to Wulfrunians in the West Midlands League Premier DIvision.

Football returned to Delahay Meadow after a three-week break and the rusty-looking, secondfrom- bottom hosts struggled in a dour first-half.

After only 10 minutes, they suffered a major setback when losing Josh Stafford through injury and the third-placed visitors took over, scoring through a 30thminute Chris Rabone penalty.

An over-worked home defence held out and then it was all Bromyard after the break.

Chris Fower brought a great save out of the keeper and saw his follow-up cleared off the line but the visitors went two goals up on 60 minutes through Jake Sedgemore.

Bromyard’s Knile Taylor and Ashley Morris missed open goals, while Joey Wood's effort was easily held.

Ricky Anslow made the game safe for the visitors eight minutes from time before Morris went past two defenders to slot home a late consolation.
