Clubs gear up for new term

CRICKET clubs return to match action this weekend hoping for drier weather to greet their pre-season friendlies.

Malvern aim to halt their Worcestershire League slide which now sees them in Division Three, opening at home to Cookley on Saturday, April 21. But first they have a testing friendly at Cotswold Hills League outfit Ashton-under-Hill tomorrow.

Senior training has started at Regency Road on Wednesdays from 6.30pm until 8pm, while the juniors began yesterday at the same time.

New members are always welcome and the club particularly need a scorer. Anyone interested can call Anthony Arnold on 07773 879880 or email info@malverncc.co.uk Meanwhile, Bromyard, Worcester Nomads and promoted Colwall are all preparing for their Division One campaign. All three sides have friendlies tomorrow.
