Wanted: New teams
2:10pm Monday 23rd July 2012 in Sport
NEW teams are desperately needed to keep the long-running Ledbury Skittle League going.
The town competition has existed for more than 60 years but is in decline with sides entering going down every season for the past decade.
The Ledbury league consists of two divisions played on Mondays and Tuesdays from September to April.
Ledbury Town Football Club, Ledbury Royal British Legion and Colwall RBL are the venues for matches.
A presentation at the end of the season sees the winners and runners-up presented with their trophies.
Apart from the league, there are other competitions running in the form of the king pin, fours and pairs with more prizes up for grabs.
The annual meeting is next Wednesday at 8pm at Ledbury RBL and all current teams are asked to be represented.
Any potential new members can call secretary Joyce Mitchell on (01531) 632338 or fixture secretary Lyn Williams on (01531) 632551.
