Perks treble fires Dyson to victory

DYSON Perrins Academy thrashed Hereford Academy 10-0 in the first round of the English Schools Football Association Cup.
Ryan Perks led the way with a hat-trick, while Jamie Smith and Josh Beckett both bagged braces, alongside goals from Bradley Heron, Jake Morris and Chris King.
Coach Graham Abercrombie said: “It was a great performance for the full 90 minutes. The boys created lots of chances and scored some fabulous goals.”
FOLLOWING a two-week break, Leigh and Bransford Badgers under 13s Spurs suffered a 5-1 MFJFL Division One defeat at the hands of reigning champions and current unbeaten leaders Worcester Youth at West Mercia Police HQ. Against a strong home side, Josiah Heath was commanding at the back and equally impressive was midfielder Dan Medakovic.
However, the home side were awarded a penalty, which they scored, before doubling their lead soon afterwards.
The hosts scored a third goal when their striker pounced to drive the ball home. Home pressure mounted as goals four and five arrived but, to their credit, the Badgers never gave up.
Determination in midfield from Sam Hawthorn saw the youngster rob his counterpart of the ball.
With the home keeper advancing, the Spurs' player squared his pass to the supporting Dan Boyd, who side-footed into the empty net.
