HEREFORDSHIRE title-holders Bromyard lost to Worcestershire champions Cutnall Green in the ECB National Knockout play-offs by six runs at Leominster.
Green, asked to bat first, lost an early wicket and scored 36 after five overs with Peter Whittenbury conceding just 18 runs from three.
Ben Whittenbury’s spin forced an easy stumping but Green accelerated to 121-4.
Openers George Godsall (61) and Jamie Owens (19) took on the bowling.
Owens retired through injury before Peter Whittenbury (15) and Godsall moved the score on. With Godsall’s retirement and Peter Whittenbury’s run-out, Bromyard slumped to 75-4.
Godsall was the last man standing with 47 runs required off the last four overs.
He took 11 from the first four deliveries of the final over before being caught out with one ball left to leave Bromyard on 115.
