WORCESTER Nomads are joint top of Worcestershire Cricket League Division One with Droitwich after three consecutive wins.
The Bransford side’s latest triumph was a 37-run home success over Pedmore when Sean Butler (4-48) and Rich Henry (4-51) helped restrict the visitors to 139 all out inside 39 overs.
Opener David White (44), Guy Davies (40), Joe Laugher (30) and wicketkeeper Tom Mills (24) saved their team-mates’ embarrassment with the bat, guiding Nomads to 176 all out from 50 overs.
Malvern’s home game with Harborne in Division Two was abandoned, while Hanley Castle and Upton suffered a third defeat in a row in Division Four.
They lost at Oldswinford and Stourbridge Social thirds by 22 runs after being bowled out for 149 in reply to 171 all out.
Todd Mathews (4-62) was Hanley Castle and Upton’s main wicket-taker.
West Malvern stormed to a 10-wicket thrashing of hosts Barnt Green thirds in Division Five after skittling them for just 28.
The villagers’ opening bowlers caused havoc with Peter O’Connell taking 6-10 from 10.1 overs and Rowan Dakin 4-18 from 11.
