BARNARDS Green are just one point off the top of Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League Second XI Division Two South behind Ombersley.

They thrashed Dorridge by 10 wickets at North End Lane, claiming 24 points after bowling the visitors out for 92 in 20.3 overs.

Dorridge won the toss and batted but Shane Thompson (3-19) dismissed three of their top four batsmen.

Jack Cullity chipped in with 2-33 before Jack Mackintosh tore through, taking 4-18 in under four overs.

Openers James Styles (42 not out) and Elliot Hennessy (43no) knocked off the runs by the 11th over for Green’s seventh consecutive win.

Green thirds lost by five runs at Bromsgrove thirds in Worcestershire League Division Four after falling short on 222 all out.

Bromsgrove replaced them in second place in the table despite Duncan Cooper scoring 80 and Andy Wheeler 48.

At Newland, Green fourth XI thrashed Cleobury Mortimer seconds by 321 runs.

They amassed 404-4 from 45 overs with Robbie Lewis hitting 111no, youngster Robert Wilson 108 and stand-in captain Nick Pett 66no.

Cleobury crumbled to 83 all out inside 21 overs with Pett claiming 3-11 and Harrison Smith 3-15.

Worcester Nomads thirds suffered a 124-run home defeat to high-flying Hagley in Division Six after being bowled out for 120.

Ryan Clayton claimed 3-23 on his senior debut.

Meanwhile, leaders Colwall thirds hammered Garnons seconds by 175 runs in Marches League Division Three.

The hosts decided to bat and scored 227-7 off 45 overs with openers Ali Pearce (26) and Dick Tugwell (16) setting a solid base.

Will Bishop (47) upped the run-rate before Gary Nicholson (55) and Simon Davies (34) enjoyed a 58-run partnership in five overs.

Good running late on lifted the total before Garnons lost an opener to the first ball of Jack Bishop’s spell.

Regular wickets tumbled as Neil Green bowled a consistent line and length to twice claim victims with successive balls.

Four wickets in an over helped him to a personal best 8-27 from eight overs.

Worcester Nomads beat a young Harvington side in a friendly by 39 runs after dismissing them for 102.

Tristan Meier (44no) and Jack Elston (27) top scored in Nomads’ 141 before the latter took 5-10 from eight overs in reply.

Hanley Castle and Upton beat Nomads by six runs in the Under 13s 20/20 League after totalling 118-5.

Westrip scored 27 before Jack Saunders led the chase with 30no but Hanley bowled well and their sharp fielding led to three run-outs.

Nomads under 14s won by two runs at Martley with Sam Williams scoring 50no and Sam Jones 30no in their 142-4.
