WORCESTER Nomads B and West Malvern top Worcester Divisions One and Two respectively in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League.

In Division One Nomads B (118-3) beat Droitwich (59 all out) by 59 runs.

The Bransford side were initially unsettled by the experimental ball with Derek Austin (28) forced to wait when playing off the back foot.

Rhys John had Josh Hawes (16) stumped on 28 but Austin found his stride and 14 were added in the fifth over.

Austin retired and Pat O'Driscoll (26 not out) was joined by Nick Jones (30no) to take the score on to 105 when both retired.

Nomads scratched about in their last two overs, losing Andy Leach and the returning Austin to run outs.

But it looked a good score and after two overs Droitwich collapsed to 4-3.

Max Young (14) was bowled in the fourth over and the last pair of Paul Bryan (13) and Martyn Davies (28) briefly gave Spa hope.

But Bryan presented Leach with a simple catch off Andy Hill and the game was effectively over.

The final curtain came down in the ninth over as O'Driscoll took a return catch from Davies.

Nomads B are level on points with Barnards Green.

Avoncroft (88 all out) lost to Royal Grammar School Worcester (89-2) with an over left.

RGS notched their third win of the season as Avoncroft's Adam Rodway was bowled by Callum Turner in the second over.

Two quick wickets followed, leaving Avoncroft on 21-3.

Tom Murray (18) was run out in the sixth over with the score on 36-4 at halfway.

Dan Elliott (28) and Dave Aston (26) took the score to 82 before they were run out late on.

RGS lost Turner in the third over to a catch off Rodway and Sam Hughes followed caught behind off Elliott.

From 25-2 James Allen and Rhodri Williams batted sensibly until retirement as 15 were taken from the 10th over.

George Cook (12no) and Alfie Cook led RGS home in the penultimate over.

In Division Two West Malvern (111-3) beat Malvern (56 all out) by 55 runs.

Though never at their fluent best, partly due to Malvern's pacey Jeremy Pillgrim, West posted a total beyond reach.

Kevin Gilbert was run out quickly as was Pete O'Connell (15).

Matt Penkoks (26no) top scored from the bat but 28 wides among 38 extras helped while Will Jones contributed 15no.

In reply Malvern did not lose a wicket until the sixth over but with only 35 on the board two fell.

Captain Tom Fairclough (10) was bowled by Penkoks and Lewis Hill (17) sacrificed himself as Pillgrim pushed his first ball to mid-off and ran.

Wickets tumbled until there were none left in the 10th over with Malvern well behind the rate.

Rushwick (86-2) lost to Hallow (87-0) with three overs left.

Chris Davies (14), Richard Bull (18no) and Ben Bromage (26no) managed double figures.

But Bull took the entire innings and without wides contributing 25 Hallow would have had little to aim at.

David Pugh and Jez Hodgson enjoyed a largely risk-free partnership of 49 before Paul Wyatt (11no) and Stu Hayes (12no) took them to their third win without loss.
