BARNARDS Green crashed to a heavy eight-wicket defeat to a Tom Kohler-Cadmore-inspired Himley in Birmingham League Division One.

The former Malvern College student scored 56 off 62 balls as Himley chased down the victory target of 155 for the loss of just two wickets at North End Lane.

Green won the toss and elected to bat, but they were soon on the back foot as Andy Ford (10) was trapped LBW by Chris Boroughs.

Ryan Tongue fared better as he hit five boundaries, but he was caught and bowled by Boroughs for 25 shortly after Josh Haynes (6) fell.

Phil Harris (15) was the next to go before Oli Swifts (5) was dismissed to leave Green on 78-5.

Dannie Rees (28), Will Dovey (26) and Jon Dovey (23) added some resilience, but none of them could kick on as Green were bowled out for 154. With Kohler-Cadmore available after being dropped by Worcestershire, Himley did not take long to hit the ground running.

Greg Wright (21) was run out by Swift, but Himley were on 97 when they lost their next wicket and by that time Kohler-Cadmore had notched his half century.

He holed out to Will Dovey off Blair Kingsland, but Boroughs rounded off an impressive day with 41 not out, while Nipun Karunanayake scored an unbeaten 36.

A SUPERB partnership between Lewis Hill and Jamie Williams steered Malvern to victory over rivals Rushwick in Worcestershire League Division Three.

Hill and Williams put together an impressive second-wicket stand before falling for 93 and 89 respectively.

Liam Proburt (5-39) got both wickets, but Thomas Fairclough then scored 73 not out as Malvern posted 323-5.

Graham Davies, James Saunders and Paul Wyatt all registered half centuries in response, but they all finished on 50.

Rushwick posted 286-8 off their 50 overs, with Neil Thompson taking three wickets as Malvern won by 37 runs.

HANLEY Castle and Upton claimed a comfortable seven-wicket win over Claverley in Worcestershire League Division Four.

Will Chambers took 3-37 as Hanley restricted Claverley to 183-9 off their 50 overs before Grant Mathews led the way with the bat.

The opener cracked an unbeaten 73, while Rory Mathews (23) and Chambers (49) provided support as Hanley clinched victory.
