COLWALL sealed their third resounding victory in succession as they trounced Feckenham by 130 runs in Worcestershire Cricket League Division One at Stowe Lane.

A resolute all-round batting display saw the hosts to a commanding 270 all out having elected to bat first in scorching conditions.

Another impressive five-wicket haul from overseas player Ancil Nedd sent Feckenham sliding to 140 all out as seventh-placed Colwall clinched another 20-point haul.

Tight bowling kept home openers Joe Blight and Nick Brown tied down early on but they persevered to add 63 for the first wicket.

Their third half-century partnership in a row ended when Blight was trapped lbw for 44.

Brown soon followed for 15 but useful contributions from Ben Cooke (24) and James Abel (22) kept the scoreboard ticking over.

A flurry of wickets saw Colwall momentarily struggling on 117-5 midway through the innings.

Nick Panniers played second fiddle to skipper Ben Wheeler in a positive stand of 65 for the sixth wicket.

Colwall turned up the heat in the closing overs with Wheeler reaching 67 and Jon Gooch 37 before the final wicket fell in the penultimate over.

Feckenham made a lively start before Mike Gooch had Andy Kings caught by Panniers for 14 on 32-1.

The introduction of Nedd’s off-spin soon bore fruit as Muhammad Idrees was caught on 28 by Abel.

Only Flynn Duggan (24) and Matt Hemming (26) resisted Nedd (5-20) and Jon Gooch (2-14) with the second of two run-outs ending Feckenham’s innings at 140 in the 38th over.

Colwall seconds proved no match for unbeaten Division One leaders Feckenham as they went down by six wickets to end their four-match winning sequence.

Put into bat Colwall struggled in the heat before being bowled out for 171 and the total proved comfortably within reach as the hosts lost only four wickets in passing the target.
