BARNARDS Green were hammered by eight wickets at Bridgnorth in Birmingham League Division One.

Put in to bat, Andy Ford (25) was the first to go when he holed out to Ryan Lockley off David Exall.

Green were reduced to 36-3 as Will Dovey was trapped lbw and George Rhodes went for a duck.

Dannie Rees was then dismissed before Josh Tongue was caught and bowled by Sam Whitney.

Along with Whitney, Exall (5-52) was doing most of the damage as he removed Kevin Golder (16), Josh White (3) and Ashlea Brewer (12).

It looked like Green would fall short of reaching three figures as Jon Dovey was caught by Lockley off Whitney (5-43).

But Jack Mackintosh (27 not out) and Blair Kingsland (16) rallied before the Malvern side were bowled out for 136.

Bridgnorth suffered a couple of early blows as Tongue took the wickets of Ian Gregory and Whitney, with Brewer and White claiming the catches.

However, Lockley and Simon Gregory stood firm for the hosts.

Lockley scored 34 while Gregory blasted six sixes and four fours on his way to recording 74 runs off 42 balls as Bridgnorth eased to victory.

Eighth-placed Green will look to bounce back when they host high-flying Smethwick tomorrow (noon).
