WORCESTER Nomads are making full use of their refurbished wicket roller.

During the close-season the Bransford club gained a substantial grant from the Severn Waste Environmental Fund.

It allowed them to bring an ageing piece of equipment up to 2017 specifications after a refurbishment carried out by the manufacturers Autoguide Equipment of Calne.

The ground staff were delighted the days of cranking the engine to start were in the past as the roller now has the luxury of electric starting, power steering and a comfortable seat.

There is now no shortage of volunteers to carry out the laborious task of rolling the wicket each week.

Nomads have expanded their use of the Whitegates Farm ground by staging matches for the University of Worcester, Worcestershire girls and the County's seniors.
