WORCESTER Nomads C and Malvern A enjoyed victories in Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League Worcester Division Two.

Current champions Nomads C (128-4) beat WCB Seniors (80-5) by 48 runs but it was an unconvincing start.

The Bransford side struggled to 50-1 after six overs with Peter Harler achieving a rare maiden.

Roger Dixon was run out before Sam Jones (38 not out) and Malcolm Jones (31no) added 37 in two overs.

After retirements, a flurry of wickets returned to drag the score towards respectability.

Martin Woodward bowled three overs for 0-21 but failed to hold a sharp return catch.

A positive start to the reply was restricted by ambitious calling.

In the fifth over after two run outs, Robin Lloyd (17) fell lbw to Malcolm Jones.

Two more run outs followed and last man Bob Pittaway (22no) was left with a huge task as the seniors fell well short.

Malvern A (129-3) beat new team Malvern B (88 all out) by 41 runs in their first success for some time.

Young recruit Ollie Halion top scored with 40no aided by Tom Fairclough (27no) and Lewis Hill (22).

Tom Sears, Ian Alley and Connor Walwyn (1-24) picked up a wicket each.

The B team struggled between the wickets in reply and lost all six batsmen to run outs.
