MALVERN Town suffered a mid-week Smedley Crooke Memorial Trophy home beating at the hands of local rivals Ledbury Town.

A team featuring several changes lost 3-0 .

At the Langland Stadium, the hosts had the best of the first quarter-of-an-hour but conceded a goal on 17 minutes.

A 20-yard shot from Dan Herbert took a nasty bounce and went over the diving keeper Jake Bobo’s hands at the near post.

Division Two high-fliers Ledbury took the game to Les Jones’ Malvern and demanded some superb saves from Bobo before notching two goals in the last 20 minutes.

Neil Gardiner stormed down the left to lob the keeper and Tom Boyle nodded in a cross.

Mid-table Malvern beat Willenhall Town 2-1 in the league on Saturday with goals from Dave Reynolds and Andrew Fletcher.
