Palmer free-kick enough for Swan

TITLE-chasing Hanley Swan edged to a 1-0 win over lowly Staunton and Corse in Cheltenham Association League Division Two.

Forced into changes due to player unavailability, keeper Andy Smith and centre-half Stuart White did well against spirited visitors.

Hanley could have been two up early on but were guilty of not taking their chances in a goalless first-half.

James Newland forced a good save but Hanley eventually went ahead through Jon Palmer’s unstoppable 20- yard free-kick.
