MALVERN Hills suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Foregate in McDonald’s Worcester and District League Saturday Division One.
The match kicked-off more than an hour late due to issues with the referee, which meant the last 20 minutes were played in near darkness.
The Malvern side started the game well, looking strong in defence and creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities, including a penalty which was missed by McIntosh.
Hills went into half-time having had the better of the opening 40 minutes, but Forgate werethen awarded a controversial penalty for hand-ball, which they dispatched to take the lead.
Tristan Tyler came closest to scoring in the dying minutes as he rounded the keeper and shot on target, only for a Forgate defender to get back and clear off the line.
