LOUIS Loader and Reece King scooped the top awards as Malvern Town brought the curtain down on their season.

Loader was player-of-the-year, while midfield colleague King picked up the players’ player-of-the-year honour at the club’s presentation night.

Malvern finished 14th in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Also among the winners were Lee Hooper, who claimed the golden boot for being the team’s top-scorer with 22 goals.

Striker Dave Reynolds bagged the manager’s merit award and defender Harry Wickett was under 25s player-of-the-year.

Manager Les Jones said: “I am delighted for them. They are five outstanding players.

“We had a poor start to the season but from December we had a fantastic campaign.”

For the reserves, who were fifth in the McDonald’s Worcester League Saturday Division, Jamie Smith was player-of-the-year and Josh Fletcher player’s player.

Lewis Doyle won the golden boot, Matt Glover the under 21s player prize and Anthony Taylor the manager’s merit award.
