IT was a bleak afternoon for Hereford United, who crashed 6-0 on their first trip to Truro City in the Southern League Premier Division.

Earlier in the week, chairman Andy Lonsdale pledged to invest £1m of his own money into the debt-ridden club.

Second-half substitute Cody Cooke scored a hat-trick for the hosts, who struck five times after the interval to heap embarrassment on United.

Veteran striker Barry Hayles hit a brace and Isaac Vassell also got on the scoresheet.

To make matters worse for United, manager Jon Taylor who, after being sent-off in the first-half for some comments, was again ordered off in the second period after trying to relay instructions to his assistant from a stand behind the dug-out.
