HEREFORD United put a 40-minute delay to kick-off behind them to earn a 1-1 draw at Dunstable Town.

The start of Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division clash was put back after two of the officials failed to turn up.

It is believed the reason was due to the Football Association originally having suspended Hereford from all football and only lifted the ban on Friday, by which time officials had been assigned to other matches.

Once new officials were found, Hereford took the lead in the 22nd minute when Dan Sullivan fired home from the edge of the area.

But the hosts equalised 11 minutes from time when Luke Williams was unable to keep out Tony Burnett’s effort.

Attention at the club now switches to the on-going winding-up order as Hereford return to the Royal Courts of Justice this morning for the latest hearing.

They were last in court two weeks ago, on which occasion chairman Andy Lonsdale, who is now the club’s new owner, claimed there would cover the club’s debts.

Elsewhere, Kidderminster Harriers’ FA Trophy first round proper match at Bradford Park Avenue was postponed just 75 minutes before kick-off due to a frozen pitch.

A local official had inspected the pitch at 8am and decided that the game was on, despite the fact that a section of the surface was frozen.

The situation was reassessed by the match official and the game was called off.

The match will take place at the Horsfall Stadium tomorrow night.
