MALVERN Vale reached the Cheltenham Association League’s GMB Minor Plate final with a 3-1 win at Prestbury Rovers Reserves.
Aaron Griffiths, Toby Ireland and Chris King scored in the semi-final success for Vale, who visit Gala Wilton fourths in Division Six tomorrow (2pm).
Meanwhile, lowly Newent Town started 2015 in stunning fashion with a 6-0 thrashing of basement boys Lydbrook Athletic in Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two.
The returning Dorian Colling scored a hat-trick with Dion Lee (2) and Henry Glover also on target.
But Newent, who are level on points with third-from-bottom Dursley Town, have a tough test at leaders Ruardean Hill Rangers tomorrow (2pm).
