LEDBURY Town Reserves struck a blow in the Herefordshire Football League Division One title race with a 3-2 win at second-placed Woofferton.

Striker Dan Herbert bagged a brace with captain Jamie Welch also on target.

Phil Preedy and Roly Welch’s side host fourth-from-bottom Brimfield tomorrow (2.30pm).

Ledbury rose to third in the table on goal difference after Holme Lacy lost 3-0 at Wellington Colts.

Meanwhile, Ledbury Colts got back into the Division Three title chase with a 4-1 win over mid-table Tupsley at Ross Road.

New Street was unavailable due to negotiations between Town’s new committee and landowners Property Solutions.

Promising young strikers Nick Bolton and Patrick Morgan put Colts two goals ahead within the first 20 minutes.

Substitute Tom Skittery added to the tally before a late penalty from Morgan cemented the three points.

Colts host basement boys Weston tomorrow (2.30pm).

Meanwhile, Newent Town boosted their Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One relegation fight with a 4-2 win over Harrow Hill.
