MALVERN Radar lost 7-6 on penalties to tough hosts Arrow Upton 2000 in the Katherine Rayer Cup semi-finals.
The young visiting side drew 2-2 after extra time with their McDonald’s Worcester and District League Sunday Premier Division title rivals.
Two improved sides fought out a high-tempo, skilful passing game with Radar chasing the ball early on.
Malvern soon found their way with Ricky Buckland hitting the bar from long range and Reece King having a header disallowed for a foul on the ‘keeper.
Arrow took a deserved lead through Lee Seldon but a keeping error allowed Oscar Hooper to equalise.
The hosts regained the lead through Tom Coley, only for Lewis Platt to finish off a late half-chance to take the game into extra time and penalties.
Arrow won the shoot-out by the odd penalty out of 14 to set up a final with Perrywood and leave Radar ruing early missed chances.
The Gloster Arms and Hallow will contest the Baylis Cup final, with the Malvern side easing through 6-2 at higher-ranked Kempsey.
Dan Stowe netted a hat-trick with Dave Reynolds scoring twice and Dean Drinkwater also on target.
DM Upton lost 3-2 after extra time to Old Vigornians in the Phipps Cup semi-finals, despite goals from Luke Carter and Will Lloyd.
Colwall St James will meet University of Worcester ‘B’ in the Kilbourne Kay final after a 5-1 victory at The National Express.
The goals were shared between Paul Fletcher, Ryan Ince, Michael Keay, Lee Mitchell and Ryan Mitchell. Callow End beat basement boys University of Worcester 5-0 in the Premier Division.
In Division Two, Falcons drew 1-1 with Malvern Rangers as Brad Morton and Curtis Williams scored respectively.
Lewis Chacksfield bagged a hat-trick as Malvern Mans thumped Alumni 7-1 thanks to strikes from Jamie Caffull, Jordan Gormley, Pavraj Mudhar and Lee Mason.
