LEDBURY Town Reserves achieved the quadruple after lifting the Herefordshire League Division One crown.

They also won the Ross Cup, Herefordshire FA Junior Cup and Burghill Cup despite a difficult time off the pitch as the football club were forced to fold at the start of the year due to heavy debts.

The reserves and Ledbury Colts hold their presentation evening at the Brewery Inn, Bye Street, on Saturday, May 23, at 7.30pm, featuring a barbecue with an outside bar and live music.

The second string, their top side after the firsts withdrew from the West Midlands League, finished the season with a 4-1 win at Fownhope Reserves.

A 4-0 victory over the same team in front of a bumper crowd of more than 170 at New Street had previously granted them the league title.

Phil Preedy and Roly Welch’s side were without the suspended Martin Loveridge for the finale as youngsters Nick Bolton, Dave Preece, Tom Skittery, Sam Ellis and Pat Morgan all played.

Forward Gavin Walton was on target, with a further goal from Dan Herbert and a brace for captain Jamie Welch.

Ledbury finished six points clear of Bromyard at the top and are set for promotion to the Premier Division.

Talks between the club’s new committee and landowners Property Solutions Ltd look set to continue over the summer to try and find a long-term solution for a permanent local ground for football in Ledbury.

Meanwhile, Bromyard won the HJ Handley Cup final with a 4-3 success over Sinkum.
