PREMIER League star Stephane Sessegnon was on the scoresheet as Hereford crashed 6-0 at home to West Bromwich Albion under-21s in front of 1,807 fans at Edgar Street.

The Benin international, who joined Albion for a club record £5.5 million fee from Sunderland in September 2013, was drafted in to play while awaiting visa clearance to join up with Tony Pulis' first-team squad in the USA.

The Baggies swept aside newly-formed Hereford, who had beaten Malvern Town and FC United of Manchester in their opening two warm-up matches.

Andre Wright opened Albion's account in the 14th minute before Samir Nabi grabbed the second goal after Sessegnon had gone close.

Hereford, who will be starting life in the Midland League Premier Division, found the second-half much tougher and conceded four further goals.

Dan McDonald fired over a shot for Hereford before Tyler Roberts notched the Baggies’ third goal and Sessegnon hit the target.

Hereford trialist Jamie Gregory then diverted a cross into his own net to give the Baggies a five-goal cushion.

Sam Hunt almost pulled a goal back for Hereford when his effort beat the Baggies goalkeeper but crashed against an upright.

West Brom had the final word after Hereford goalkeeper Harvey Rivers brought down Tyler Roberts and a visiting trialist slammed home the spot-kick.
