WESTFIELDS manager Sean Edwards hopes his side play Hereford FC at home in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Edwards' boys beat Highgate United 4-2 in a dramatic second qualifying round tie, while Hereford overcame Sutton Coldfield Town 3-2 with a very late John Mills penalty.

The third qualifying round will be regionalised, but it is unclear how the clubs will be split.

The feeling is that it will be North/Midlands/South, so if that is the case, a Hereford derby could well happen.

The draw will be made at midday tomorrow.

"It would be a sell out and would be an opportunity to see where we are at the moment," said Edwards.

"We're a different side to last year, but if it's not Hereford, then anyone at home would be good.

"In our 50th year, it would be brilliant if we get the opportunity to get to the first round."

Westfields banked £4,500 for beating Highgate and will pick up another £7,500 if they get through the third qualifying round.

"It would be massive for us and means, come the end of the season, we could pick up some loan players," added Edwards.

Hereford manager Pete Beadle though wants to avoid Westfields so that it gives both clubs an opportunity to progress further in the competition.

"Both teams are flying high and hopefully that will continue throughout," he said.

"Hopefully they will get a nice draw as well, like we will.

"Hopefully we'll miss one another because it would be a shame if we got that.

"It would be nice if we both got home draws against bigger clubs to go and test ourselves against.

"I think this competition just brings out the best in people and everyone wants to be in it.

"We want to be in it as long as we can but we're not going to win the FA Cup.

"It would be nice to get a run in it while we maintain our league form."

Bulls striker John Mills, who scored the winning goal against Sutton Coldfield yesterday, just wants a home draw.

"We heard Westfields got through again, so there's a chance of getting them, but at the moment we're happy to play any team and confident we can beat anyone," he said.

Meanwhile Rob Purdie, who has worn the captain's armband recently in the absence of Joel Edwards, joked that he hopes no one else plays at Coles Lane.

Hereford haven played both Romulus and Sutton Coldfield at the ground in the last two rounds.

"There were players sent off and a tight game against Romulus and a last minute winner yesterday," he said.

"I'm hoping no one else plays here so we can't get them in the next round.

"Sometimes you don't want the replays and it's nice to win it in the last minute.

"It really brings the lads together."
