HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle said there is nothing his side can do about the 'harsh' refereeing decisions that went against his side today.

Ryan Green was sent off shortly into the second half after referee Matthew Law deemed he denied Didcot Town a goalscoring opportunity.

And Law waved away Hereford's protests deep into stoppage time after Pablo Haysham went down in the box.

"I thought there was contact above the waist, but the ref seems to think Pablo dragged his trailing leg to try and win the penalty," said Beadle on the Haysham decision.

"But it wasn't given and we've just got to get on with it.

"It's a hard enough job to referee as it is, we can only see it from a distance away.

"Obviously we feel our team has been served a little bit of injustice because we thought it was a penalty quite late on, but importantly we didn't lose the game.

"We took something from it and we've got to start again on Tuesday."

Rule changes brought in this season mean that players don't have to be sent off for denying goalscoring opportunities, but Law felt the foul committed by Green warranted a straight red card.

"According to the referee he said the rules had changed, but if you pull, push or hold someone in the box that stops them from scoring, it's a straight red," added Beadle.

"Now I don't see how that can be the case if you blatantly bring someone down in the box for a penalty.

"We've had four or five penalties this year where the culprits haven't even been booked.

"We've been punished for it because I think it's a harsh one.

"It was a penalty, I'm not saying it wasn't, but we've been harshly dealt with."

Hereford went into the half-time break 2-0 up before Didcot hit back 2-2, with their equaliser coming in the 92nd minute.

"Even at 2-1 and with 10 men, we still created chances and controlled the game for large periods," said Beadle.

"But we can't do nothing about it now, we've just got to bounce back on Tuesday and get three points.

"Both goals were naive defending.

"It was naive to give away the foul in the first place because he wasn't going anywhere on the halfway line and naive defending by not staying with your man, the lad has got a free slide in because no one is near him.

"There's two sides to the game - there's the defensive responsibility and your attacking responsibilities and we've let ourselves down today with the defensive side."

Hereford travel to Swindon Supermarine on Tuesday night and Beadle is hopeful international clearance will come through in time for new recruit Adam Davies to play.

"We've had an email from Merthyr saying they've had contact from the FAW requesting his clearance, which Merthyr have kindly said he's clear to play," explained Beadle.

"We hoping to get that through either yesterday or this morning, but hopefully it will go through on Monday."
