HEREFORD manager Pete Beadle says the upsets caused in the FA Cup last week proves that no game is easy.

The Bulls are miles ahead at the top of Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South & West and are well on course to claim back-to-back promotions.

But Beadle is keeping his feet on the ground and is only focusing on one game at a time, starting with this Saturday's trip to Slimbridge.

"No matter who you are, if you're not up for it and don't prepare right, you get beat," said Beadle.

"People talk about the amount of changes teams made in the FA Cup at the weekend, but they are still Championship and Premier League players.

"Brighton should not be getting beaten by Lincoln because every player in that squad is good enough to play for them.

"Leeds United, a big Championship club, should not be getting beaten by Sutton, but they did.

"Likewise, Newcastle at Oxford.

"But because the players weren't up for it, they got beaten.

"Some people may say we should be going to places like Slimbridge and hammering them, but why should we?

"It's not an easy place to go and is a small ground.

"They've lost a few players this season, but only lost 3-1 away at North Leigh on Saturday.

"We will not rest on our laurels and nothing is won yet.

"Taunton won 11 games on the bounce before Saturday, but dropped a couple of points so they will be determined to bounce back, Tiverton have lost two on the bounce so are a wounded animal and Evesham will also want to bounce back after drawing on Saturday."

* Meanwhile, a poll run at herefordtimes.com has shown that the majority of Hereford supporters don't mind that the Bulls haven't been pushed harder this season.

Last year, Alvechurch battled Beadle's men all the way in the Midland League, whereas this campaign has been far more comfortable.

Out of 511 votes cast, 81 per cent said they wouldn't prefer a stronger challenge and just want the Bulls promoted as quickly as possible.
