MALVERN Town moved up to fourth in the West Midlands Football League Premier Division with a 3-1 win over Black Country Rangers.

Westfields’ disappointing Midland League Premier Division run continued when they lost 2-1 at relegation-threatened AFC Wulfrunians in a match littered with mistakes.

Home keeper John Bateman had a five-star performance, including a fine save from a Craig Jones penalty midway through the first half.

Fields fell behind in the eighth minute when a suicidal pass across the box by captain Phil Glover put Jake Webb in to coolly slot past Keiron Blackburn.

Glover then committed a needless foul just outside the penalty area and Nicky Turton put Wulfs further ahead from close range following the free-kick. 

The hosts were reduced to 10 men when a defender was sent off for handling the ball on the goal line.

However, Jones saw his penalty saved and Fields could only net once in the second half when substitute Matt Reeve shot home from 18 yards.

Leaders Alvechurch won 2-0 at Loughborough University through Connor Deards and Joshua March.
