HEREFORD FC striker Mike Symons says playing at Salisbury this weekend will evoke some good memories.

Symons scored against the Wiltshire side just over a year ago as the Bulls sealed a place at Wembley in the FA Vase Final.

Hereford will be hoping for more celebrations this time around when they look to win the Southern League Division One South & West title.

The Bulls will be crowned champions if they beat Salisbury and other results go their way.

Second-placed Taunton will have to lose at Evesham, while Tiverton will need to drop points at Wimborne.

"The two legs were one of the highlights of last year with the buzz of winning there and getting the opportunity to play at Wembley," said Symons.

"It will bring back a lot of memories and it will be brilliant if we can go there and get another three points to keep the momentum going."

Salisbury knocked Hereford out of the FA Trophy this season after coming from 2-1 down to win 4-3.

"We know what they're about and they're on a good run," added Symons.

"But I think we owe them one with the FA Trophy game last year.

"We looked comfortable and then in the second half they scored a couple of goals and we lost the game.

"We are going to go there determined to get the three points and, if things go our way, we could win it."

Symons has played in nearly every game this season and he says he knows the role he has in the team.

"We all like to chip in with goals, but try to work hard for the rest of the team and support the lads who work hard behind us," said Symons.

"That is what I'm there to do and hopefully create some chances for John behind.

"We all play to our strengths and if we do that and all turn up, we know we are a very hard team to beat."

Hereford manager Pete Beadle, meanwhile, says his team will need to start better than they did last weekend.

The Bulls had to come from behind to beat North Leigh 4-1.

"We will prepare during the week and make sure we're ready and focused," he said.

"But we will need to start better than we did last Saturday because they could make us pay."
