MALVERN Town and fellow high-fliers Wolverhampton Casuals treated the HDanywhere Community Stadium crowd to a 4-4 draw.

Two early substitutions disrupted Town in the first period but a Dave Reynolds brace and one each from Dene Whittal-Williams and Matt Pinder in a six-goal, 10-minute second-half spell secured a point.

After a slow start in the West Midlands League Premier Division clash Malvern went close in the 22nd minute before Jay Holdcroft and Kevin Nickle fired wide for Casuals soon after.

Reynolds shot straight at keeper Vitor Pinheiro from Louis Loader's pass but the hosts fell behind on 37 minutes.

A mix-up in the their defence saw the ball fall to Liam Hughes who nipped in to score.

Reynolds shot over as Malvern hit back and then Casuals added to their lead with a finish from Holdcroft before the break after Les Jones' side lost the ball.

The visitors went in at half-time 2-0 up after Whittal-Williams headed straight at Pinheiro when looking to pull a goal back.

Town missed another opportunity early in the second period when Matt Turner fired over at the back past from Lewis Platt's free-kick which travelled over the keeper.

Platt continued to cause problems as he was awarded a penalty after being brought down on 53 minutes and Reynolds converted the spot-kick.

But Malvern conceded again a minute later when Casuals took a quick free-kick with Malvern claiming it was from the wrong position and Nickle made it 3-1.

Town got back into the game three minutes later as Whittal-Williams headed in Reynolds' free-kick.

However, Casuals regained a two-goal lead through a controversial penalty dispatched by Hughes after Malvern's Whittal-Williams slipped in the box.

Soon after Pinder fired home a third for Town after Turner's shot was parried by Pinheiro following a right-wing raid.

The crazy 10-minute spell ended when Reynolds weaving his way through to equalise from Platt's throw-in.

Although the goals dried up Malvern had chances to win it with Pinheiro saving from Pinder's 12-yard effort on 75 minutes.

The Casuals keeper was busy again to deny the same player after his poor goal kick fell to the Town forward.

Good work between Max Kontic-Coveney and Loader resulted in Reynolds failing to cap the move with a weak shot.

Malvern's Adam Sauntson had a shot cleared off the line and only a fine intervention by Craig Radford denied Turner a clear chance from Reynolds' pass.

There was a further home chance in injury-time but Pinder's shot from Lee Hooper's pass went straight at Pinheiro.
